Prepare for the birth
These remedies can be given from week 36

ACONITE – Give if the mother is very scared about the impending birth. Fear is expressed as anxiety attacks or experienced as sudden panic or a feeling of deep unease.

ARSENICUM - Used in situations where a more extreme fear is seen, and specifically fear of death (though not as strong as with aconite). The woman is restless, has a great need for order (and lists) and cleanliness. Can be used when the woman is exhausted by the slightest ask. Acts like OCD around 'nest building' and is often very critical of other people's input. Is quick to point out errors and deficiencies.

CAULOPHYLLUM – Take 2-3 times a week to prepare and tone the uterus. This remedy can also be used to stabilize contractions.

"Induce" the birth
Use only if both mother and baby (babies) feel ready.

Alternate between CAULOPHYLLUM and CIMICIFUGA every 2 hours for up to 4-5 doses of each remedy. If nothing happens, take 24-48 hour break before trying again.

GELSEMIUM – Use this for the concerned mother. She is very nervous about feeling the birth and may even be shaking from fear. She feels very weak. She is worried that she cannot fulfil the ‘task’ ahead of her. Can also be used if the birth process stops after new people enter the birthing room, when arriving at hospital or after receiving bad news.

NAT MUR – If baby needs to turn, and if the reason why baby is not turned, is due to too little amniotic fluid. Give 2 doses a day for 1-3 days.

PULSATILLA – if you want to move baby into another position. Also use if the birth is in progress and then stops. This may happen several times during the birth. Give a dose every 2-4 for hours for 4-5 doses.
